Keep what is still there
Stay on the device and browser profile where you recorded. A browser profile is the browser’s saved account and settings area. Do not clear site data or remove local takes yet.
A local recording is separate from an online video. Which takes you see can depend on the account you used. An interrupted take may still hold useful parts, even with a missing ending.
Look in the recorder and library
Start where you made the recording.
- Reopen the recorder in the original browser profile.
- Open On this device.
- Check the account you used for the take.
- Open the local take.
- Read its status.
- Play the parts that are available.
- Download a recovery copy before removing anything.
- Check the online library if you expected an online save.
- Check any unfinished saves or local upload copies too.
Know what a recovery copy means
A recovery copy may use pieces saved before the interruption. It can play but still have a missing ending or other gaps. Check the start, the last useful moment and any playback stop.
If the browser cannot play the local copy, download it anyway before removing it. The beta does not promise full recovery from every crash, closed tab or long take. Do not treat a recovery label as proof of a complete video.
If you cannot find a copy
Check whether you used another browser, profile, device or account. Look in your download folder for a recent file. Search using the recording name if you gave it one.
Clearing browser data may have removed a local copy. Do not assume it was backed up online without a finished-save message. Email the team the rough time, browser and last state you saw.
Keep the original browser setup while they help check what remains.
