The useful details.

Before you press Record.

Straight answers about recording, editing and sharing with ScreenCandy. The beta is an early version, and some tools are still being built.

What is ScreenCandy?

ScreenCandy helps turn screen recordings into clear tutorial videos. Record in your browser, then use the Mac app to edit and polish. Save a finished video or share it online if your plan includes this.

Who is it for?

Anyone who needs to show how something works. This includes teachers, coaches, small businesses and teams explaining a task.

What can I record in the browser?

In a supported desktop browser, choose a tab, window or whole screen. The choices and sound options depend on your browser and device. Check the preview and make a short test before a longer recording.

Can I record my face and screen together?

Yes, in the Mac app. You can show your face in a small picture beside the screen. The browser recorder does not currently record both together.

Can I edit the whole video in my browser?

Not yet. The browser records and plays videos, and supports online saving and sharing with the right plan. Use the Mac app to edit and finish your recording.

How do I edit through the words?

The Mac app gives you a transcript: written speech linked to your video. Use the words to find a passage and make cuts. Fixing written text does not create new speech, so check edits with sound.

What does Auto Polish do?

It prepares a cleaner version for you to review in the Mac app. Watch the result and keep the edits that help. You can bring back the original if you prefer it. Automatic suggestions can make mistakes.

Can I add subtitles?

Yes, in the Mac app. Check the written words and how they match the video. Save subtitles with your finished video, or as separate SRT or VTT text files for another player.

Can I keep a video file?

Yes. Download your browser recording or save a finished MP4 from the Mac app. MP4 is a common video file you can use elsewhere.

How does online sharing work?

If your plan includes it, save a finished video online and create a viewing link. Choose when the link ends, or stop sharing it. Anyone with an active link can pass it to someone else.

Can I reopen my full Mac project in the browser?

Not yet. The online library holds finished video copies. It does not include every source file, layer and setting from your editable Mac project.

Can it make new speech or copy my voice?

Not in the current beta. We are exploring future voice tools. Changing written words does not replace your recorded voice.

Does it make PDF guides?

The current product focuses on tutorial videos. New PDF guide creation is no longer part of the active tools.

Can I use it on a phone?

You can open the website and web app on a phone. Recording choices depend on your browser and device. Use a supported desktop browser for screen recording, and the Mac app for editing.

How much does it cost?

ScreenCandy is in beta. We have not announced final paid prices or plan limits. Check your current access in the app or email hello@screencandy.online.

How do I get help or send feedback?

Email the development team at hello@screencandy.online. Tell us what you tried, which app you used and what happened. Leave out passwords, secret keys and private recordings.
