From “let me show you” to “here you go”.

Explain it once. Make it worth watching.

Record a real explanation. Use the Mac app to make it clearer. Then save a finished video someone can watch and follow.

01. Show the thing.

Choose what to record in a supported desktop browser. Check the preview, then press Record and explain your task. Pause when you need a moment to prepare the next step. The Mac app can show your screen and camera together.

  • Choose a tab, window or whole screen.
  • Pause and carry on with the same recording.
  • Watch it back and download a copy.

02. Get to the good version.

Open your recording in the Mac app. Your transcript is the written speech linked to your video. Use it to find passages, fix written mistakes and make cuts. Review Auto Polish, adjust the picture and check your subtitles.

  • Find the part you want by reading the words.
  • Watch each edit and undo what does not help.
  • Check the picture, sound and subtitles together.

03. Put it in their hands.

Save your finished video as an MP4, a common video file. Keep that file for your own work. If your plan includes online saving, add a finished copy to your library. You can then make a viewing link and choose when it ends.

  • Keep a finished video file on your device.
  • Save and share online if your plan includes it.
  • Stop sharing a link when you no longer need it.

Choose where to work.

Use the browser to record a video. Use the Mac app to edit and finish it. The online library stores finished video copies. It does not yet hold every part of your editable Mac project.

About the sample walkthrough.

This video shows a made-up project board. ScreenCandy’s Mac tools cut a pause and added the frame and captions. We made the voice and wrote the captions for this sample.

We chose the edits for this sample. It does not show Auto Polish choosing edits by itself. Always watch your own result before you share.

Can I start with a video I already have?

Yes. Open the video in the Mac app to edit it. If your plan includes online saving, you can also add a supported finished video to your library.

What should I check before sharing?

Watch the finished video with sound. Check that the steps make sense and screen details are clear. Read the subtitles and look for private details in the picture or sound.
