Your words.
On the picture.

Try changing the line below. Watch how a caption helps get the point across.

A website example. This changes the words on screen. It does not change the voice.

Fictional project-board walkthrough
Here’s the good bit.
Browser recorder

Start with something worth showing.

Record a task, show a product or explain an idea on screen. In a supported browser, choose a tab, window or whole screen. Check the preview, then press Record. Pause when you need a moment.

  • Check what your viewer will see before you start.
  • Pause, carry on and watch your recording back.
  • Download a copy to keep on your device.
Mac app

Find the edit in the words.

The Mac app turns speech into written words called a transcript. These words link to the right part of your video. Read through them to find a passage, then review or cut it. You can use the timeline for closer control of each edit.

  • Find a part of your video by reading the words.
  • Fix written mistakes and check cuts against the video.
  • Undo an edit if the earlier version works better.
Mac app

Give the rough take a second look.

Auto Polish helps prepare a cleaner version in the Mac app. Watch its changes before you decide what to keep. A pause might help someone read or follow a step. Check that each cut keeps your meaning clear.

  • Watch the suggested version before you save it.
  • Keep the edits that help your explanation.
  • Bring back the original when you prefer it.
Mac app

Put yourself beside the process.

Sometimes the screen tells the whole story. Sometimes your face helps explain it. The Mac app can record your screen, camera or both together. Move the camera picture so it does not cover useful details.

  • Show your face beside the task on screen.
  • Choose a picture that helps explain your idea.
  • Check the layout before you share the video.
Mac app

Keep the words with the video.

Subtitles show your spoken words on the picture. In the Mac app, linked subtitles follow supported cuts and text changes. Read them to catch mistakes before saving your finished video. You can also save subtitle files for another video player.

  • Check names, numbers and other words that need care.
  • Keep linked subtitles in time with supported edits.
  • Save subtitles with your video, or as SRT or VTT text files.
Save and share

Finish with something you can send.

Save a finished video from the Mac app as an MP4 file. This is a common video file you can keep and use elsewhere. If your plan includes online saving, keep a finished copy in your library. Create a viewing link, choose when it ends or stop sharing it.

  • Keep a finished video file on your device.
  • Save and share online if your plan includes it.
  • Choose when a viewing link stops working.
Can I use the full Mac editor in my browser?

The browser records and plays videos. It also saves and shares finished copies if your plan includes this. Use the Mac app to edit words, review Auto Polish and finish your video.

Does changing a written word change my recorded voice?

No. It changes the written words or linked subtitles. It does not create new speech. Play the video with sound to check what your viewer will hear.
