Start with what viewers need to see
A good-looking video still needs clear steps. The Mac app has picture, layout and subtitle controls. A large camera picture or background can leave less room for the task.
Find the smallest text or most useful button in your recording. Use that moment to check each change you make. The aim is to help viewers understand what is happening.
Change one thing at a time
Use the controls available in your Mac build.
- Play the part with the detail viewers must see.
- Adjust the layout or background.
- Check that the screen detail is still easy to read.
- Check the small camera picture across the whole take.
- Move it away from important buttons or text.
- Check subtitles over both light and dark parts of the picture.
- Watch any point where the layout or view changes.
Check background effects closely
If you use a person or background effect, inspect movement and edges. Look at hair, hands and objects you hold. A face that is small or partly hidden may not work as well.
Keep any background image file available for later edits. If a tool is blocked by a locked track, check the track first. Unlock only the part you mean to change.
Do not assume a new preset is in your build.
Check a real saved video
Save a short finished test and open it outside the editor. View it at a size your audience may use. A large preview on your Mac can hide hard-to-read text.
If useful details are too small, record a smaller screen area. You could also split a complex step into simpler parts. The full picture editor is a Mac feature.
The public browser app does not yet offer the same tools.
