Check the video before sharing

Open the finished online video and play it first. Anyone with an active viewing link can watch without signing in. They can also pass that link to someone else.

The rest of your account stays private. Choose who gets the link with this in mind. Online saving and making a link are separate steps.

Check that you are sharing the right finished copy.

Make and test a link

The web library offers Share video with an expiry choice. Expiry is when the link stops working.

  1. Open the finished video in your web library.
  2. Choose Share video.
  3. Choose when the link should end.
  4. Use Create link.
  5. Use Copy link to copy the full viewing link.
  6. Open it in a private browser window where you are signed out.
  7. Press Play.
  8. Check the title and video.

Choose the link’s lifetime

The current web choices are 24 hours, seven days and 30 days. Check the choice before making the link. The current Mac sharing panel makes a seven-day link.

Use the viewing link, rather than the temporary address inside the player. If a link request was not confirmed, check existing links before making another. The first request may have worked.

Stop sharing or fix a viewing problem

Use Stop sharing in the web link list. In the Mac app, use Revoke link to stop a link. Existing playback may last up to about a minute.

You cannot recall files someone has downloaded or already loaded. Check each link if you made more than one. If a viewer cannot watch, check the full link and its end date.

Try the page’s retry action for a playback error. Do not share your owner password to solve a viewing problem.
