Start with a checked take

Auto Polish in the Mac app makes a polished version to review. It uses the script and checks on picture and sound. The script is the written text from your recording.

Automatic choices can be wrong, so check that the full script is ready. If the app asks you to finish or retry it, do that first. Keep the explanation’s meaning in mind throughout the review.

Watch before you keep it

Open Auto Polish from your project. Wait for the preview to be ready.

  1. Play the proposed version with sound.
  2. Check each join between spoken passages.
  3. Check that every screen action still has the explanation it needs.
  4. Read the change summary.
  5. Open Advanced if you want to review each change.
  6. Use Update preview after changing the selected cuts.
  7. Watch the updated version again.
  8. Choose Keep this version or Restore original.

Read the review message

The app may show basic polish if context AI was unavailable. It may show a partial review if it checked only some speech. These messages tell you how much was reviewed.

They do not mean that every pause or repeated take was fixed. A good take may need few changes. You do not need more cuts just to make the change count larger.

If the result feels wrong

Restore the original and try a smaller manual edit. Some quiet time gives viewers room to read or follow a step. If Auto Polish fails, read the message before using Try again.

The original edit is kept during the review. Settle your keep or restore choice before exporting or sharing. Then check the finished MP4 file too.

A preview alone does not show what your audience will receive.
