Choose the edit you need
The Mac app’s script is the written text from your recording. It helps you find a spoken passage without searching the whole video. A spelling change fixes the text, but keeps your voice as recorded.
Omitting text hides words from the written script. Cutting speech removes matching time from the video. These actions do different jobs, so check which one you are using.
Fix a wrong written word
Use a text correction when your voice is right but the written word is wrong.
- Find the word in the script.
- Play the sentence to hear what you said.
- Select the word you want to fix.
- Enter the right spelling.
- Apply the correction.
- Check the matching subtitle text.
- Play the passage again.
Cut an unwanted spoken passage
Select the words you want to remove. Use the speech-cut action to shorten the video. Check the passage and time shown before you confirm.
A speech cut can remove the same time from picture and sound. Watch from a little before the join to a little after it. Check that the screen action still makes sense.
Use Undo or the last-cut restore action if you need it back.
Keep the full meaning
A pause or repeated instruction may help someone follow the task. Listen as well as read before removing it. If your spoken word is wrong, changing text will not replace your voice.
You may need to record that part again or make a careful cut. If the script is incomplete, retry it before automatic edits. The full script editor is a Mac feature.
Replacement AI speech is not part of the current beta.
